Matthew Clark is the Electric Vehicle (EV) Project Manager and Technical Expert at the Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC). With over five years of project management experience, Matt specializes in developing and executing innovative EV infrastructure projects across Ohio. His work focuses on leveraging federal and state grant opportunities, such as the CFI Community and Corridor Grants, to expand EV charging networks in underserved areas, including public parks, libraries, and municipal facilities.
Before joining SOPEC, Matt was the Director of Project Management at Heartland Charging Services, where he led multiple EV charger installations at the community and government sites, His expertise spans from site assessment and design-build project execution to managing vendor relationships and ensuring compliance with federal regulations, including FHWA and NEVI Standards.
Matt is an Air Force veteran with six years of service and holds a degree in Economics from Ohio State University. He is passionate about promoting sustainability through transportation electrification and creating equitable access to EV charging infrastructure in rural and urban communities alike.
