Sarah McKearnan is a Senior Manager of Clean Transportation at the Northeast States for Coordinated Air Management (NESCAUM), a regional association of state air and climate agencies. Sarah manages initiatives to rapidly accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles and supports a Multi-State Zero Emission Vehicle Task Force. She led development of the Task Force’s 2018 Zero Emission Vehicle Action Plan and now coordinates an array of implementation efforts, including an initiative focused on helping states plan for fast charging infrastructure, and an EV consumer education and outreach campaign. Prior to joining NESCAUM, Sarah served as Special Assistant to Vermont’s Secretary of Natural Resources, where she advised the Administration on climate goals and solutions. As a consultant, she also assisted the Institute of Sustainable Communities to design and deliver high-profile peer learning workshops on low carbon transportation and other climate solutions for teams from cities across the U.S. She is co-editor of the Consensus Building Handbook (Sage Publications). Sarah holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Harvard University and a dual Master’s in Public Administration and Natural Resources Management from the University of Michigan School of Natural Resources.
