Jarod Kelly is a Principal Energy Systems Analyst in Argonne National Laboratory’s System’s Assessment Center where he conducts life cycle analysis and helps develop the GREET® (Greenhouse gases Regulated Emissions and Energy in Technologies) model. His research focuses on applying engineering fundamentals to technical, economic, and environmental analyses of transportation systems. He has helped advance the life cycle understanding of the materials within the batteries that are powering the next wave of transportation globally. He has contributed to numerous journals, conferences, and technical reports. He has presented internationally and to U.S. government agencies and has provided scientific inputs to the Congressional Research Services, U.S. Department of Energy, and International Energy Agency. He received his MS and PhD from the University of Michigan in Mechanical Engineering, and BS in M.E. from the University of Oklahoma.
